Currently, there seems to not be a lot of time for this whole blogging thing, let alone all the other stuff I should be doing in my life.
However, I want you to know I am working on some great (hopefully) posts for the blog over the next few weeks. Once I get back into the groove of it, I hope to keep the momentum going.
Here are some posts I'm working on currently for you all:
DIY Pirate Costumes for Mom and Baby
100 Days 100 Blocks Quilt Challenge
Quilt Pattern Reviews
Yard Sale Find Upgrades
Indie Clothing pattern reviews
Converting a Toy Guitar into a Working Ukulele
and much more!
I hope.

On Writers Block
I sat down to write and completely blanked. Nothing. No
ideas, no inspiration, can’t even remember what happened five minutes ago. This
has been a problem for the past 3 weeks.
There
are a lot of folks out there who try to help this sort thing. Ideas to overcome“writers block” or lists of writing prompts to get you going. Stuff like that. I even found a
list of blog post ideas recently. You’re supposed to use them when you don’t
know what to blog about.
And you
know what? Sometimes you just have to write.
It can be horrible writing. It can make you depressed that you are actually trying to write about that topic and no one would ever enjoy reading it because you don't even like writing it. BUT you are writing. You have to slog through the slow times, the terrible writing, and the staring at the blank Word document for extended periods of time in order to get around to the good stuff.
You have to be able to write poorly in order to write excellently. Get the bad out, so there is room for the good to develop.
Get out there and JUST WRITE!
(You may be wondering how I keep publishing while I can't seem to write. I write in bursts, three or four posts at a time, then schedule them. I'm often at least a month ahead on posts, and have a file of potential post ideas, outlines, and quick writes, just in case this sort of thing happens.)

Lately...
I did set a goal to post on the blog more often this year. However, I also set a goal to get the Etsy shop really, truly up and running again.
Currently this means I've been spending some time working on the Etsy shop. (There's an Etsy mini on the right sidebar of what's in the shop, if you're curious, but it only shows 9 items, there's more than that in the shop!) Which consequently means I'm spending less time blogging than I would like to spend.
I think I may have a new system in place for making time for both things, and we'll see how things go in the next few weeks, mmm'kay?
Here's a quick shout out:
Any one who knows how to web-design, I'm looking to make some improvements on the blog. Let me know if you can help a girl out!
Check out the whole shebang on Etsy: Aunt Jaq
And also Facebook for fun things like Giveaways and previews (and ability to buy before it goes on Etsy): Fan Page on Facebook

A Shameless Self Promotion
So, I've noticed when I post that the blog is getting some hits. A lot more hits than followers. I mean, what's up with that?
I'm going to shamelessly self promote here. If you are reading this, please become a follower of the blog. It's easy. You click the little deal on the sidebar that says "Join this Site". And then you're a follower.
I'll be really happy and motivated to do cool things like giveaways and posting stuff on a regular basis. Things that 'real' blogs do.
If I can double my followers I might do something special. Like bake brownies or cute pictures of dogs or something.
Here's one right now in fact.
;)

I'm Back (at least I hope I am)
I'm back.
I hope.
I finally buckled down and decided it would probably be a good idea to write a blog post every now and then in my down time. What little down time I have.
And I'm in the final stages of settling in the new place, so I figured I might as well get started blogging and incorporate it into my routine. Because setting up a routine and schedule is going to be major in me being successful in life for the next 5 years.
Why you ask?
I started GRAD SCHOOL this last week.
Deep breath, I'm in grad school. I am getting a PhD. It's going to be really hard, but worth it. I can do hard things. I really really can do hard things.
Some of the positives of this is that I've got a wonderful job working with my favorite people in the whole world, little children! And I'm making new friends and creating a new 'family' away from family. Plus, I get to explore a new city and find cool places to eat, shop, and hang out at.
It's going to be an adventure.
I hope.
